White Water Kayaking

White Water Kayaking(Olympic Event)

Whitewater kayaking is an adventure sport in which participants navigate a river in a decked kayak. There are various different kinds of whitewater kayaking. River running is when a paddler follows a river and paddles through rapids as they travel. Creeking typically involves smaller, steeper, and more complex waterways. Creek boats are typically short but high in capacity, allowing for agility while preserving buoyancy.

Slalom paddlers have to navigate through “gates” (coloured poles suspended above the river). Slalom is the only whitewater athletic activity featured in the Olympics. Play boating is more creative than other types of boating since it focuses on a certain feature of the river. Squirt boating uses low-volume boats (often built expressly for the paddler) to do stunning tactics on whitewater events.
